biringer farm marysville wa, will it be open for hunting?
« on: December 14, 2014, 04:31:54 PM »
The dike at biringer farm looks like it was broke and channels have been dug out by heavy equipment. I am just wondering if it will be open for hunting?.

New project, most probably have not heard of it.  I do see birds in that field along with deer.  Don't know if it's open to hunting.

The Port of Everett owns it.  My guess would be it'll be a wildlife "sanctuary" with no hunting.  Keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't designated that though.

That being said, I highly doubt the Port of Everett will allow hunting  :bash:
They will argue we have the North end of Spencer Island.

The port f Everett purchased that land in the 90's to use as a wetlands bank for projects at the port, when they take tidal land at the port they have to replace it somewhere, the "bank" is used to fulfill that obligation, same thing they did at union slough, do they allow hunting there at the union slough project?, usually  they are turned into wetland conservation area.

So the positive is that it will be more soft water for birds to stage...

Unfortunately there is rarely anything that could be described as new hunting access on this side of the state.  If it is huntable it is probably a lease.  If the port owns it I am 99.9% sure it is not huntable.  There is a salmon restoration project in between the sewer plant and Spencer that is not posted but is off limits (not that you would want to hunt it anyway), be careful...the lack of signage is not a free pass to hunt, and it can get confusing in that area.
