Yep.  If someone leaves a cam on my property it becomes my property.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.

I took the SD card.  Loaded the photos off of it and deleted them and then put the card back in the camera and turned it off.  Went back a couple weeks later to put a note inside the camera telling them they were trespassing and it was gone.

I was also going to include my contact information in the note.  It was in a location that I figured there was a chance they didn't see the trespassing signs.

:dunno:
Did the P-man's post get deleted?  Is he the unlucky one that got the ban from the itchy trigger finger?

He's to busy trying to come up with a plausible explanation as to why the Pats balls lost 1.8-2.0psi and the colts did not..And some good comebacks when his team losses...

As to the question of my private property, clearly posted and i find a cam on it , i would remove it and leave a note with my contact info, they could have it back if they contacted me depending on attitude..It still is not my trail camera...and attitude would dictate whether i give it back to them or to the local sheriff for them to retrieve.. :twocents:

I have had trespass problems before..

Quietly observing. The mods don't like it when I call someone out for something, so I've been trying to be a good boy so they'll like me again.  :hello:

LOL  :chuckle: Its ok if you dont like it. I dont need or require you to. Though I think its funny that you can make the jump from "my brother took one" to "better lock up your stuff cause here comes Dave". Typical small mindedness though. Especially cause I wasnt even there when my brother took it. But still agree with him.

You may not need or require us too but there is this little thing called the law and it states that taking someone else's property is illegal. Laugh all you want but you have lost pretty much any respect myself and most other members on the forum might ever have for you. I hope to never run into you into the woods.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other.  Anybody who despises somebody who takes another's belongings is small-minded...color me that.

You sound as though you think "somebody is gonna steal it anyway so it might as well be my brother..." maybe not, maybe he one of a small percentage of hunters who are also thieves?
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

You may not of been with him when he took it, but you surely condoned his actions and thought it was just fine, infact using the words "we" and "our" and stating if someone is going to leave something unsecured and in view then they do not deserve to own it and it is yours for the taking...
You are just as guilty of theft as your brother is...

My reaction was more to your 2nd paragraph where you said "our" and "we". I jumped right to that part...whether you were there or not when he took the camera, you pretty much said word for word you do the same thing.
Here it is for a refresher in case you forgot.
Quote
My brother took one this year off a piece of public land we scout and hunt. We hunt it both muzzle and modern and were pretty sure to run into the owner at some point during the seasons. We did and gave it back to him.

Our thinking: On private land we would never touch it NOR even trespass onto the land to see it anyways. We have our own but dont use em. Would rather get out there and scout it. Gotta put work in son.
But if you are stupid enough to put a cam on public land without security or even an attempt to hide it, you dont deserve it. Dont like? Tough. Its the way we play it.

Thief.
