« on: January 05, 2015, 02:14:41 PM »
Hey guys and gals I'm looking to hunt for elk In Sept this season and plan on gmu 117 South East of 49 degrees North. Any advice where to start scouting? I hear it is tough country which isn't a problem for me, just would like some help to start. Thanks  :o

nobody is going to give you areas with elk in them in this unit other than tips on how to hunt elk.

There is elk all over this unit not on private or anywhere near private and its not lived in...there is tons of area to hunt here.

Well that didn't take long for another NE Wa elk question to pop.

It's tough hunting but there are elk there. Boots on the ground is the best advise I can give. The toughest part is finding them.

Yeah...that too. But in all seriousness scouting IS the best advise. It literally took me years to learn the ways of the NE Wapiti. There one minute, then gone. you may be able to narrow it down a smaller zone they are in but finding them in that zone is the toughest.
