Took me 10 years to find it and figure out how to hunt it. It's been good to me.  :hello:

OK. I will bite.

I will not ask you where you hunt, but given your proven ability to connect, would you share your knowledge as to "I figured out HOW to hunt it?"  What type of land, your tactics, etc.

I basically just hunted one area hard that I regularly saw bear sign in. Over the years I started to pin point the favored feeding areas. Like the grassy logging roads in the spring and the Choke cherry patches in the fall. I hate to over simplify but I basically just kept at it. I hunted grouse there, rode quads and basically just played around. then during bear season I really started to hit it. Truth be told I knew there were bears there but not how many. One year I was riding in a new area in June and the bear sign was absolutely everywhere. I went back on opening day (August back then) and saw no new sign whatsover. Then I realized they spend spring and early summer in that spot. The following year they started offering spring tags and it's been "game on" ever since. I tapped my first in spring and then sort of found a fall honey hole. I don't know, all I can say is find sign and keep exploring and hitting that area. Perhaps there are grouse to shoot or berries to pick that give you reason to keep exploring but thats what i did. I think too many people move on because their spot isn't good enough and they keep searcjing out a new spot but never take time to learn any one spot very well

You shouldn't put in, its a terrible hunt  :chuckle:

There's lots of bears and its more fun than hunting turkeys (for me) so that's why I put in.
