and more practice! I've had the bales of straw up for a few weeks and get out and shoot whenever I can. I got the square target when I got the bow but finally put in the pasture today. I've got the bales set at 30, 40 and 50yds and the close one 28yds.. I think I'm starting to get it dialed in but not shooting real tight groups yet. Whenever I put one in a bad spot I really cringe and think "wounded animal damn it". Still have a lot to learn.

Looks like a great start Encore.  Looks like that 28 yd target is all meat in the freezer to me.

I like to always end the shoot session on a good shot. Also, that first one is telling, walk up cold, pick a target, and just let it fly. Don't overthink it, just send it.

I would put a small circle with a sharpe on your paper plates, aim small miss small idea. careful shooting a bow can be very addicting.

Practice makes perfect, keep it up.

With those houses in the background, please make sure you are not one of those guys who raise their bow toward the sky to draw back.

Nice range! Another good training tip is to stand about 5' from the target, draw, point at target, close both eyes and release. This really helped me with just the release and not worrying about hitting the target. Once you get good muscle memory in your body and release dialed, hitting the target will be easy...

When your groups get closer, shoot a distinct target with each shot so you don't ruin your arrows.

How do you mean "ruin my arrows"? I haven't done and "Robin Hoods" so no worry there. I'm gonna have to move the bulls eye cuz the straw is getting worn out and some of the arrows on the 30 are sinking in to the fletching/vains so I push them back out rather than pulling on through. Thanks guys for the hints and tips, I really appreciate them.

Yeah, I used to say "no worry" too.  After robin hooding 3 arrows I finally learned my lesson.  Trust me, you'll get there too.

Ya you learn that you need to shoot at different spots real quick once you start grouping real tight. Not just ruining arrows, but punching holes through the vanes too.

The main problem I'm having now is I shoot a rifle left hand and a bow right hand. I having trouble getting my right trigger finger to do it's thing when I'm on target!! So when it doesn't want to do it's thing then I start wobbling around! I'm gonna start b**ch slapp'n it when it acts up!!! Dog gone it anyway!

Take two ratcheting straps and put them around your bale, this will make it more dense and your arrows will not go in as far.  Straw can strip your fletches right off.

I'm the same way, and my left eye is my dominant eye so when I shoot my bow I really need to try and keep my left eye closed or i'll really get messed up
