Bow question

I've been gradually increasing the weight of my bow. First I had it at 45 then after a few weeks of shooting I cranked it up to 50 and I was getting good groups. So today I decide to crank it up close to 60 I think it's at 58+or- but now it shoots all over the place. It's a bit windy out but I don't think the wind would mess with it that much at 30yds. Do I need to go up or down a spine number do ya think? I'm shooting 500's now. Maybe I need to go to a 400 now. The "D" loop stays the same doesn't it? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Yes, I would expect you need to decrease the spine deflection.  If 500 was working at 50# I would assume the 400 spine would now work well.  If brand and/or O.D. remains the same you should not needs to adjust your D-Loop.  However, there may be a need to adjust the arrow rest slightly depending on how well the new spine performs within the poundage range.

Expedition Hunter Gold Tip. Look's by the chart that the 400 O.D. is .295 and the 500 is .291. The bow (PSE Stinger) came with a Wisker Bisket rest. Also after I got the bow I took it to Spts. Whse. and had to ask the dumb question about the position of the odd color fletch and the guy said "up" so that's what I've been doing so last night on the Outdoor Ch. I see a guy and he's shooting with the odd color 90 degrees out or horizontal. Does it work either way? Sorry to sound stoopid. Thanks for the info.

It is doubtful that .002" will change your D-Loop position.  I would stay with the cock vane up when using the Biscuit.  You want to give yourself as much clearance of the black bristles as you can.

If it were me I would just get a few and make sure they perform as advertised before buying 18.

What size fletching are you using and do you have a helical on them?  Those whisker Biskets are a great hunting rest, but if you have long fletching and a strong helical on them, that could be your problem after you increased your poundage.

I just put the bow away. Was out shooting for an hour or so. I think I just needed the 400 spine arrows but I still wasn't happy with the grouping so I put 125gr field tips on and now it's/I'm doing better. I'm still not comfortable while shooting so I'm going to take the bow to Cabela's up north and see if they can get me fine tuned on it. Oh the fletching is the short ones and pretty straight.

Short fletching is good!  Straight fletching is problematic.  If no local shops around I'd look at getting a Bohning or Arizona fletching jig and doing your own!!!
