A unexpected birthday suprise
« on: February 01, 2015, 10:16:58 PM »
So my grandpa came over tonight for my bday/Superbowl party and handed me a card and said he was broke and didn't have much money to give me but had something else...I was good with just the card and spending the evening with him and the rest of the family but after about 20min he gets up and goes outside to his truck and comes back in with a gun case and says happy birthday...I open it up and its a mint condition 1941 winchester model 94 30-30  :IBCOOL:  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: the hawks lost today but I scored  :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

I got one from my grandfather.  Made in 1952.  My wife and I have each put one blacktail body on it so far.  Happy b day and congrats on the score!

No I originally bought the gun about 6-7 years ago and he loved it and I ended up trading him for a browning Buck mark and told him if he ever decides to get rid of it you better come to me first and I'll buy it back...I've always liked 30-30s and kicked myself for getting rid of it once but knew it was in great hands and then he suprises me yesterday with it..said he planned on giving me back my gun a long time ago...gotta love family

Hey! I'm not a complete idiot I have parts missing. Though sometimes I wonder.

If you want to make God laugh tell him your plans.

If that little 30-30 meant as much to him as my guns do to me ( with all the memories etc...) then he just gave you something special and from the heart.
