2015 Muzzleload seasons

Well dang it, why didn't somebody say the proposals were just posted today?   

So I see the early muzzleloader elk season hasn't been moved back, it's the same as always: Oct 3-9. What did change is the muzzleloader deer season runs at the same time, except the deer season is two days longer, so you get one more weekend for deer.

The new units added are, if I can remember them all: Willapa Hills, Bear River, Storm King, Margaret, Packwood, Winston, Williams Creek, Mossyrock, Coweeman, Lewis River, Goodman, Clearwater, Siouxon, Wynoochee, Coyle, Stampede. (westside)

I think I got them all. Boy this is going to be a hard decision this year! Which tag to buy? Or don't buy an elk tag at all?

Oh, and yes, the archery season looks like September 12-24.

Also I see Coweeman won't be included in the late muzzleloader season.

Tough call. I don't think a guy can go wrong either way. So this is just a proposal? What needs to happen to see this in ink and mountain money?

These are the proposals, but normally what you see in the proposals is what you will see in the final regulations.

If those are the units open this year and I don't get a multi tag I'm making the switch from rifle. I hope this is all true

From what I just read the elk seasons will not be pushed back like the archery season. In fact the deer season for muzzelloader was pushed forward so they now will overlap for the entire season like 4 years ago rather than just one weekend of overlap.

  I don't know what to do now for elk! Archery with those dates or a unit that has been closed forever for muzzleloader that I know where the bulls are

That was my initial reaction but that early in the year, elk can get really elusive really quick.

I think people who regularly hunt muzzy season should see a huge increase in hunters.  I bet it is going to be as busy as modern elk usually is this fall .


That changes my plans for deer as I wished the seasons didnt overlap.  I guess I will draw a muti tag and buy it so if I draw a bull tag that I could hunt in modern rifle.
