limbsaver proton

Does anyone have any experience with the limbsaver proton bow I'm thinking about getting one they are a local company in the same town as me

I have a DZ 32, great bow and am also considering up grading to the Proton, its a great bow.

The 32 was a very good bow at the time it came out.  I really thought limb saver would have had much more success with their bow line by now.  I shot the new proton at ata show.

The poundage adjustments seemed a little weird to me nothing else that ive seen like it.  Their grip has never fit my hand well (I pretty much hate it).  It was smooth to draw and shoot.

  D, you know they have different grips, I have used my DZ for the last 5 years or more punching my elk tag most every year, cant afford to get a new bow very often but the new bows sure are lighter and faster, I'm sold on the new Proton bow, its made in Shelton from Sims Vibration Laboratory's, a local company putting local people to work, my brother was at the Ata show with Sims, you probably met him.

i may be wrong here but i really do believe its made over seas and they just put there name on it.

I was very curious about being made over seas so today I did a little checking and the risers are made in Italy for them everything else is made and assembled in house including all the finish work

  They build the bows on site with just under 100 employees, along with all the other products, sights, arrow rests, dampeners, and a host of other products, not to mention the line of recoil pads and accessories for rifles, machinists cut many of the bows from a solid chunk of aluminum, they sell almost exclusively to specialty shops so most archers not in the know, know very little about them

I've never been a fan of the Torqueless grip.  But I absolutely loved the grip on the DZ-32!!  Most of the folks who did not are target shooters who don't shoot with a grip.  Not really sure why they even tried the DZ since most I know started complaining about it not being a Hoyt before they ever shot it.  I'm not sure I have ever shot a bow better than I did my first DZ-32.  Thing was crazy forgiving and loved killing stuff!

The new 2015 Proton is quite a bit different than the first Proton.  Much better cam and cable system these days.  I still like the DZ better other than the limbs and cam which I believe are much better on the Proton.  Anyone wanting to support a local company could do a lot worse than end up with the Proton.  Especially the 2015 model.  It is one of the bows I toy with shooting every year.  That not only speaks of the quality of the bow, but also the quality of the people at LimbSaver.  Some darn good folks out there in Shelton

A broken limb and he dropped it like it had a venereal disease.  I had a new set of Barnsdale limbs on order and he couldn't even wait for them to show up.    Someone does need to kick him in the buttox!
