I've been calling yotes for along time here in western WA. Mostly up and down the coast, from Clearwater to Bear river. My favorite call is a Cotton tail in distress, its what worked the best for me most of the time. The last couple of years I've been hunting up Capital Forest more, it's close to home and there seems to be plenty of yote sign. I've called in a few but not nearly as many as I'd hope to, with all the sighn around I know the yotes are there. My setup has pretty much been the same for over 20 years. I sit in a clear cut that boarders reprod, usually with a good sized, brushy creek close by. The yotes seem to like skidder trails or any other trails that run through the cutt. I sit and call 15 to 20 min. per. set up I guess I need to try some different calls and maybe a whole new tactic. I know hunting this close to town, these yotes have seen hunters and heard calls.
