I've got my money on him trying to sneak it out.up to a $5000 fine, and if civil charges are filed by forest service, he will be liable for restoration costs.

Dust was still in the air....Guy made it maybe 20 feet up one of those end of road/ steep gravelly hillsides begging for testing your 4wd.... Uh, yeah he screwed the pooch and somehow got is sideways and rolled it....His wife was not too happy looking, "chatting" him up from the pavement. Sometimes guys do this to themselves.....Amazing how many ATV/ORV tickets one can write in the cities. That situation is one example.I don't get it bigtex, What does a Nissan Pathfinder have to do with an ATV/ORV ticket?? Two different classifications of motor vehicle.

First off, I do not condone what this jack wagon did, and this is going to BUT you all sound like a bunch of Its dirt and sage brush, not a meadow of lushes grass being fed on, or the middle of the feel area for deer wintering deer in 2 feet of snow.Get that thing up that ridge, and have the dumb arse take a shovel, some seeds and take care of the dirt he disturbed.Rent a dozer and get ot out of there....jeesh......And you gusy would be suprised what a capable jeep can get through or up

It's not the huge deal these guys make it out to be. No need to try and ruin hid life.
Talk about hitting a fly with a sledge hammer. Yeah it's critical habitat but he most likely made a poor decision that SNOWBALLED into a costly/embarrassing/horrible situation. I highly doubt there's going to be huge die off as a result of this damage. I don't know the guy so maybe I'm wrong, but be sensible and get a dozer and get his rig out of there. Obviously it's already going to be costly, no sense on making absurdly costly by making him use a friggin helicopter that he could possibly have to pay (depending on his financial situation) on the rest of his life.
Quote from: jackelope on March 02, 2015, 12:17:11 PMI'm told that the Jeep is still there because he's been told the only way the Jeep is coming off of that hill is via air carrier. Rumor from a relatively solid source. He's not allowed to try and drive it out.the fine for driving it out is sure to be less then th cost of flying it out.

I sure hope we get to hear the final outcome of this.
Chaining up and driving out is the best idea i have read.
