Some of you act like you won't be happy till this person is publicly humiliated, financially ruined, loses his vehicle, and goes to jail for the rest of his life, oh, and all of that will be after he restores the ground back to its virgin state. If he has a wife and kid/s, what do you think, make em indentured servants to the State to do hard labor for the rest of their life, because hell, anyone who would marry such a low life POS could never be trusted not to make a mistake of their own and the kid/s would have his/her blood so, naturally, they could never be trusted to not make a mistake.Geez, why not just form a lynch party, get a rope and string up this no good S.O.B. from the nearest tall tree. And to make sure you all get your point across, you better do the lynching in a real public place, as to be a deterrent for any other low life scum that makes a mistake in judgement. So, I'm curious, for those of you that have been so critical of this individuals decision making, what's it like to be "perfect"
I'm still really curious how he's gonna get his jeep back. After seeing the picture of the whole mountain and his route, I saw lyrics Goodluck dude. I changed my mind about driving it out. It's so far and he will probably die if he rolls coming out.

He broke the law knowingly. He should accept the punishment that is doled out. If it is a slap on the wrist and minimal, so be it. If it is massive in the form of payment, needing a heli to get it out, so be it.He made his bed, now he lays in it. Easy as that.Nope, not perfect. Fished once with a barb on my hook where I wasn't supposed to. I should have read the regs better. I paid my $200 fine and kept my mouth shut about it being a simple mistake and I didn't mean to. He did this on purpose and should accept whatever penalty he faces.
Quote from: fastdam on March 03, 2015, 12:27:55 PMIt's laughable that driving off the road "destroys winter range". Animals tend to make trails on the range too. Trails don't destroy the the range. Thank God or father's took their jeeps off road before all the city people started making it illegal, as a result we now have trails that help us access the wild areas with our vehicles. All the deer are not gonna die because of this guy. The guy who did this is the largest victim of his own mistake. No one else has been victimizedShow me the last time a mule deer buck buried itself up to it's axles on the side of a near cliff. While I don't disagree with you that all of the deer are not going to die because of this....it's laughable to me that you think driving off road doesn't destroy winter range. It's the damage to the ground and sage, etc along with stress to the deer at their most crucial point all probably in the name of greed and shed hunting. Orrr just being stupid with a new toy.

Letting forest fires burn then wait for the spring erosion?

Man you guys can beat a dead horse a different million ways and still come up with 10 more ways after those million are done.
Quote from: full choke on March 03, 2015, 09:09:34 AMI have zero sympathy for the guy. If an airlift is what is required to get him out, so be it. Why should you feel sorry for him and not want to make things worse? He clearly ignored the signs, and drove- off road- into a sensitive area. He is lucky he didn't roll that thing already. What then? Maybe there would have been an expensive rescue mission, maybe a responder gets hurt trying to save his life? Just dumb all around. We hear too much talk these days of the pussification of America. This is a good example. "Poor guy has suffered enough, why ruin his life over this mistake"... Why doesn't he just own up and take care of it no matter the cost? He did it, the taxpayers didn't. He chose to drive down there, he should take the responsibility to remedy the situation- whatever that costs, Airlifts, fines, rehab, etc. I'll bet he won't do that again...Lets see what the guy does to own up to this mistake before we put him on a cross. He could be working with the powers that be on a plan to get this thing out in the best possible way for all parties involved and make reparations. People make mistakes all the time, as have you. I am sure you were thankful for a little grace when it was given.
