I've been present when 2 bulls were killed, i've just not killed one, and now i'm archery hunting with my wife this year.

Every year different spot.  Some within a mile or two, others 60 miles away.  Funny thing is, once you figure it out it really doesn't matter what unit you hunt you'll find them.  I track 3 to 4 herds pre season so regardless of pressure or closures etc I always have a good backup to the backup.

Just about the time you learn an area so well that success becomes easy they will likely log it or close it down.  So try to keep up on plan "B", "C" and "D"

When it comes to elk I hunt the same unit every year. Deer is what gets me traveling around.

15, two cows the rest bulls all within 15 miles of each other.

Shot 14 or 15 since 1997.  All public land Washington.  Some with permits some with general tags.  longest run was probably 8 or so.   I try and sit and think of every kill but its hard when sitting at home.  Much easier when you see a ridge and think oh ya I remember that one.
