Congrats! I set out 2 pots and let them soak for 3 hours. Buddy and I limited with the first pot and had to throw out a few keepers. Checked second pot and it had even more crab. Threw them back, but I'll be after them tomorrow. We each reached our clam limit in less than 45 minutes. Today was a very successful day at the beach. If only I can be as lucky during hunting season.
I'm not sure what I am doing wrong with my square pot, but it never crabs well. All my other pots are typically full.

I keep thinking I should retire it but it keeps producing crabs.
It's been a good year so far. 6 keepers in this pot - 2 hour soak - kept 5 and threw back one that was missing a claw and 2 legs. Dumped the 2nd pot and it looked just as good.
Got another report from the BIL. 2nd soak they are up to 14 legal....culled out the 4 smallest and have a 2 man limit in just over an hour total soak time, 4 pots. Chicken qtrs and rockfish carcass for bait.
crabbing has been really good this year. its not worth leaving your pots soak for more than an hour because doesn't seem like any more crab can get in. the bad news is we don't have anything to blame the Indians for right now
Quick question is it legal to soak pots overnight?

I've decided to steal the old mans boat for the rest of the season. First outing will either be Saturday evening then soak over night or just head out on Sunday. I usually go out of the Mukilteo light house boat launch, but now that they are charging I'm considering changing it up and going out of Everett. How long of a run is it from the launch to where people are crabbing? Ill only be in a 12' smoker craft with a 25hp motor on it so I dont want anything to crazy.
