River closures....?

So what do y'all think about all the closures. Will the stay closed for the hole season? :dunno:

IMO, they are still open until I see an RCW/closure order posted that says the rivers are closed. I don't go by news articles as they don't mean anything relevant. I have been fishing the naches after work since Saturday and have seen a game warden drive by 3 times :chuckle:

Probably add in more closures unless rain falls enough to get them to a steady flow.  I know last year they kept on moving the closure a week at a time for some of the rivers.

I live on the Sky. Just read on the WDFW web site that it is closed to all fishing. That's crazy... Salmon fishing is right around the corner >:(

I guess it matters where and when you are fishing. I think it's pretty clear.

Select Yakima Basin tributaries to close to fishing for game fish due to drought

Actions: Partially or completely close current seasons for game fish in select areas to reduce drought-related injury and/or mortality.

Effective date: July 18, 2015, until further notice

Species affected: All game fish (trout, whitefish, etc.)

Locations:

1)   Ahtanum Creek, including North and Middle Forks: Closed

2)   Naches River from Tieton River to Bumping River/Little Naches River: Closed 2:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight

3)   Rattlesnake Creek: Closed 2:00 p.m. until 12:00 midnight

4)   Little Naches River: Closed

5)   Teanaway River, including West, Middle and North Forks: Closed

Dams on the Nisqually are going to reduce flow to a trickle soon.  Would run out of water by September otherwise.

Season regs are not in the RCW they are in the WAC.

   I feel if the water temp is above 70 degrees f you should stop fishing.  a released fish will swim away but if he is in shock he will die.  no use hurting the fish population for your own fun.   mike w
