A lot of persistence is the main key ...kind a lot of sign and hunt it ..just because you looked it over the day before does not mean he is not there tomorrow ! :tup:

If your going to hunt rifle start looking for the does now...find an area with a lot of does and concentrate on that for the bucks come Oct...they will come to them...the area I hunt I see a few bucks throughout the summer but not many...i know they are there or will be come season...so don't be discouraged  by not seeing bucks right now

Maybe I missed it, but what tag/season do you intend to hunt? That would dictate how and where I would hunt for Blacktails.

This year I'm hunting modern firearm while I'm learning the different areas. Next year I will bow hunt for at least deer, maybe elk too. Sticking to firearm for bear though.
