I've got a few Kuiu items. The only thing I ever had to wait on was a few dry bags when they messed up my order. They were very helpful though in fixing the problem and even followed up with me a few times to make sure everything was cool. I only order items that are in-stock and have never waited. I just ordered a Peloton 240 full zip hoodie and the 145 Marino base layer top and full zip bottoms. Got them on there Memorial Day sale and save some coin. Got them all within a week of ordering. Love the fit of the hoodie. Fleeced backed and is super comfortable! I'm a fan of there clothing, fits well, and its a bit spendy, but nice quality In my opinion. I've also got a Icon-pro 7200 which I also got on sale at 30% off. Really happy with that pack for the price as well. I've learned to get on-line early during there sales and get my order in asap before items become sold out..

I'm looking at buying a couple of layers for the modern season, looks like most are in stock. One thing I hate is being overdressed when I'm on the move. I sweat a lot, and would much rather have the option of removing layers as needed. I purchased some First Lite merino base layers the other day and won an Ebay bid on some Attack pants recently, so I'm off to a good start. I would like to get a lighter shirt, maybe one of the Teton Zip-T's or one of their ULTRA merino crew shirts for muzzy elk season to go over the base layer. I will plan on using them during deer season too if there's any warm weather, but the Peloton 240 looked great for when the weather gets a little more crisp. If it rains, I'd just slip my rain layer over the top.I was on the fence about the Guide jacket since it seemed like a good option for when I'm glassing out in the elements, but the weather never seems to get horrible enough in October to warrant buying something that insulated, even when I'm up at 5,500 feet. If it did get bad, I'd just assume layer around the Peloton and use my rain jacket as a shell. I'm not camping out in the woods and will be trekking in and out of both of my elk and deer spots every day, so I don't need any of the heavy duty gear for extended backpacking trips. Any recommendations? One thing I can say I don't like about Kuiu, is that I wish they had more hoods on some of their lighter jackets. I know I said I get warm out there, but I like having the option to put my hood up when I stop to glass to keep that wind off my neck. Cheers
The guide jacket is one of my favorite day hunt pieces. I don't use it on backpack hunts though.
I wouldn't bother with the guide jacket. I run the 145 merino, Kenai, attack pants, and raingear. Some combination of that system works for everything from hot and sunny to dumping snow.
I wear a mix of first lite and kuiu and the setup works great for me. A must in my opinion is the guide jacket, kuiu guide gloves, merino beanie and the down puffy is great but it doesn't breathe at all. Created a lot of sweat when it was very cold in Idaho and I had to hike a lot. mix and match to get the best comfort is what I recommend. Have a good day!
