« on: August 24, 2015, 05:08:59 PM »
Curious who will be up there and what season u will be hunting? I will be hunting by myself and spending plenty of time up there.  Would be nice to see some members while out scouting.

How much of the unit is actually open to the public? Like not permit only, not closed for fire?

I bet more people will be buying Weyerhaeuser permits and hunting Margaret and the other St Helens GMU's. Most other private timberland is closed.

I'll be up there for archery. The camp site in kid valley was full when I called, so I imagine there will be plenty of people. I did get the weirhoser permit though. After talking to the biologist and waitress at the cafe near the campground hoof rot has taken alot of animals. Figured id give it a few days and head to my other spot if its too crowded or I don't see any animals.

I was up looking the area over today and contacted one of the property owners who owns property by the upper lakes,  he was already hanging no trespassing signs.   I guess security has been hired too.
