I amazed at the quality of deer being taken this year, across the state...congrats to all the success stories! I LOVE looking at all of these beautiful (tasty) animals!  :)

This season was my third season trying (hunting about 5 days each year), and first season with success at getting a buck.

I see a lot of comments that this seems to be a very good year in quality of production. Very curious to see what success rate trends are at the end of the season.

I'll say this: when I started deer hunting a few years back I said I just wanted to put one in the freezer. Now after my first buck I've started looking at antlers and finding myself admiring the aesthetics of one or the mass of another and now deep down inside I'm saying next year I'll get a bigger buck. Haha never thought that would be me but here we are!

I'm surprised at the quality I've seen this year as well with the drought we had you would think that it would have affected growth.  :dunno: but it's been a good from what I can tell

My Grandson got this one last Saturday.  One shot from his .270 did the job.  Not full rut yet but he was on the prowl at 11:00 AM.  He was hunting with his dad and I.  Great Time!!

I got him within 45 seconds of starting to hunt.  My dad was still peeing next to the truck when I fired.  Scared him a bit.  :chuckle:  (I did not see him from the truck, we were stopping to kick some brush)  5x4 (double eye guard one one side)
