49 Degrees North Moose Scouting on Saturday
« on: September 13, 2015, 10:00:58 PM »
Well, the gfriend and I are going to spend Saturday in the unit scouting.  My main focus is going to be learning the unit, roads, etc., and checking out the suggestions you fine folks made.

My tag is for November- c'mon November!  If we see any, I'll let you guys and gals know where they be.  Maybe one of the early season tag holders can benefit from what we find.

Going to a zoo like lots of big animals standing around or going to a zoo like it costs a lot of money, the lines are long and there's lots of screaming kids?

No kids or lines, no cotton candy or peanuts. Just a wide variety of wildlife both large and small.

Look around the top of the Parker Lake Closure. Talked to one guy who saw the biggest bull he had ever seen and that was on Ruby creek rd. I saw a stud at the top of Tacoma creek rd leaving the clearcuts west of the closure. Elk hunters heard multiple bull moose on the north side of the closure division road between tacoma creek and Ruby creek. Shoot a big one.
