Rangefinder?  Judging distance can be tuff in open/closed areas.  After I missed a 7pt bull I purchased one.  But ya, bowhunting.  Its all fun.  Kills end your time out there so be happy.
Yeah I did use it once on the 4th or 5th shot now that I think back. I have a vortex ranger 1000. Pretty solid little thing. Sight was just way off. Came home that afternoon and re-sighted it in. It was just in fact high and to the left.

Congrats, don't you be disappointed on your success!  A lot of bow hunters shoot animals and never recover them, be very satisfied that you recovered your game!!  When you start feeling bad about shooting small animals, that's when you start passing them up.  Enjoy your success!

Dude ...you gave it your all ...that's all you can do ..target  shooting and shooting animals is 2 different things ...There are many hunters who can shoot dimes at 50 yrds all day long while shooting in their yard .

Then when a deer pops up they can not hit their arz ...But that's why you have to go and give it your best ...the harder you hunt the better because you will learn what to do and not to do ....all animals look big to someone who has not been around them a lot ...again that will change once you see a few and learn how to judge their size ...at least you got something ...that's a good start !!!    GOOD JOB !

Ill fill you guys in ina bit. Working on getting it taken care of and hung. I had to track it over 500 yards even with double lung. Very high though went through the top and sliced the tops of each lung. It was a yearly buck. If that.
I'd say bambis kid brother. :bash: let me shower and ill go into detail.

Congrats Smossy. You got it done. Way to stick with it. That'll be some good eats.
