Has it really come to this on here where people post their individual hunting season. Lets just get back to where you post your story and pics under 1 thread.

There is a sticky'd thread in each big game category for people to post pictures of their bucks and bulls and bears etc then they link to their own personal thread with the story of the hunt.  :dunno: it's been that way for at least the couple years I've been a member.

Whatever dude...

Smossy, you killed that deer. You should honor it for providing food for your family, regardless of it's size. And to the guys making fun of it, kick rocks, you got it done.

Congrats

Smossy I commend you for sticking it out and getting the deer. Not all hunters would have put in the effort that resulted in eventually getting the deer, that was your biggest accomplishment.

Too bad that some people have to spoil the experience, this is your first deer, be happy and proud about it. Forget about the guys who made fun of you, hunting shouldn't always be about size! My first deer was smaller than I would have liked but it was a stepping stone in my life of hunting, I still am proud of that first deer as that was just one of my steps in learning to hunt.

Thanks Dale. First deer on my own. Second deer I've taken. Last year I was basically placed and it and was told to shoot it. Thanks to MLBowhunter. This year he again told me a place to go check out and I went solo a few times and finally made contact on my own. Didnt have anyone to fall on for ideas.

Good for you smossy! Sticking with it is half the battle. You will play it all in your mind again, and learn from anything you may have done differently. You got your first solo deer with a bow. Don't let those guys get to ya. Your the one eating all the tasty steak! Judging range for me is also a difficult thing to do.

Good job dude!  Brush them size haters off like a tick lookin' for skin! I pumped 2 rounds of buckshot into an Island deer that wasn't much bigger than a German Shepard and I was STOKED!! Best eating deer I've ever had!

Well done bud!!
