Is it even legal to notch a tag if you didn't harvest an animal?  What would an officer do if you had a notched tag in your possession, but no animal?

The officer would listen to the story and then say OK.  Lots of hunters notch their tag after losing an animal.  It is their choice.  Congrats to them for sticking to the standards they set for themselves.

Odd if a pic was removed. If you zip a bull and loose it, zip a second bull and tag it. Then find the first bull and someone else tags it that's not completely legal if you tell the whole world about it on the web... :dunno:

Yes, what I read was Jon Brown shot and lost the first bull (pic removed) and his buddy shot the bull shown above. They later found the bull jon brown shot and I assume he hung his tag on it. seems simple to me?

There is a bull or two in the WA record book that were killed in this exact scenario.

Yep, pic's and alot more story.....There was pics of another bull killed and recovered after 2 days (atleast the head) and the story about it...hummm interesting as now it has all been removed/changed.
To hunt and butcher an animal is to recognize that meat is not some abstract form of protein that springs into existence tightly wrapped in cellophane and styrofoam.

After giving up hope for a bit we got into a amazing bull so my hunting buddy set up down wind of me about 70 yards and The area was stupid thick with brush and the terrain was god awful so we found one ok spot to bring him in with the most visibility. After what felt like forever he finally came in and the shot was about 30 yards I only saw the tips of the bull. It was a good lung shot but the bull went straight down hill into some of the nastiest terrain I've been in. After losing the blood trail and two more days of searching covering lots of ground an with family help plus lots of prayer and nice words....There was no bull to be found ....we finally gave up hope and went back to hunting.
The next bull set up we got was a pic perfect set up easy 30 yard shot on open ground  my buddy took its heart out after losing the other bull.
*

This is absolute BS!! The line saying there was no bull to be found is complete BS as yesterday the poster had a different story about finding the bull and how bad it smelled and the recovery and to top it off he had PICS of the bulls dead head!!!! Now the story has been changed and the pics removed..... :yike:
Also it seems his buddy arrowed 2 bulls, the one that now they claim they did not find (but they did) then the second one which they claim he shot after not finding the first one..which they did.... :dunno:  >:(  :bdid:

Man  i hope someone has yesterdays posts and pics saved, atleast there is one small part of it in this post:

Thank you it was one of the greatest feelings finding him but The gagging experience of getting him out was one of the worst ever,Top 5 bad smell for sure.
