WyG&F has a ton of info on its website, including phone numbers of land owners you can call for free or cheap access. One thing you should plan on is having to go after the rifle Buck season is over so they can sell access to the clients with the big wallets before allowing us little people on. Not all but many I called last year (our first away year) we're like this. We already planned on being there early last year so 'twas the best laid plans of mice and men for us. We actually ate the tags we bought in the spring.
But then, we happened to meet a landowner by coincidence and he told us to buy some doe tags for their unit and come out and kill as many as we want. We be like: yeah ok

we took good care of the guy, taking him out to dinner at the nicest restaurant in town and later mailing him some unique gifts from the Southwest, and now it seems as though we have a standing invitation to kill does and bucks on 50,000+ acres of one of the ten people who actually live in Wyoming.

with the exception of my pronghorn buck tag we filled all our tags on their land.
If I were you I'd pick up the phone and make a few calls right now even if it's next year on your mind so you can get an idea how the game works. Good luck.
