Wolf Kill? 340
« on: October 13, 2015, 07:08:06 PM »
So I reckon my first post shoulda been of somethin a little more positive... This is defiantly not the first wolf track I've come across up in the Manastash. However, it was the first that was only about 50yds from a cow that had been stripped to the bone. This was during Muzzeloader season, it could have been an archery kill that wasn't found. Anyhow, Wolves are there and in particular have been hanging out in the upper Ice water for quite a while. (I know, we also landed on the moon).

I would have guessed those as Sylvester's.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."

Hard to tell.  It's not scattered like a wolf kill usually is.  How old is the carcass?

Most defiantly not a feline track... I can assure you that. It was fairly fresh, Ravens were still hangin around. I would say maybe 2 weeks at the very most. If you didn't know any better you'd say it was dropped in the middle of a rodeo arena, the whole area was torn to hell. Lots of hungry critters apparently.

Wolves, thrill-killing machines.  They don't even eat what they kill.

I don't see a skull in the pic... you sure it wasn't an archery kill that was boned out?

I hate to hear of wolves in 340...
