For now I had Kyle Haan of KH Horn Mounts in Lynden strip the velvet and stain the horns and do a leather horn mount for them.  I am getting the cape tanned and will probably mount in the future but need to save some money first.  (Don't really have anywhere in the house to put him which is why I say probably...)

Depending how it scores with velvet off he should be top 5 (western blacktail) with a bow in WA.

The state record now is the world record Columbian blacktail so, it'll be more than just a state record if it's true!

The current first and second Blacktails in the world are big enough to be Boone and Crockett Muledeer. I highly doubt that a new record was shot opening weekend, but it would be very cool.
