European over shoulder mount! ?

I have a ton of Euros and prefer them.  Shoulder mounts are nice but take up way too much space.

I preffer European mounts. Alot cheaper on the wallet. Did a bear skull with hard work and $17.50 worth of hydrogen peroxide. As mentioned it takes up less room to.

Thank you, if you send me a PM ill send you the directions, it's really simple and 100 times safer than stronger peroxides. Also less harmful on the bone.

So this is a good example of mounts and euros. I have a small house but a huge shop so the wife doesn't allow the mounts inside the house. Built an office in the shop for the mounts. I guess I favor euros now because I always think I will kill the trophy of a life time and have it mounted   I have a buddy who is a hunting fool and mounts everything and now he is middle aged and has no where to put his trophies and seems to better at least one of them every two years.

So far I've gone euro mount on everything I've harvested. Just like the look of the skulls. Next deer/elk I'm lucky enough to harvest is getting a shoulder mount. I don't even care about size.

I really like a nicely done euro on a cool rustic wood backing.. although I love the look of a nice mix of both in a trophy room. I think first trophy for sure should be shoulder mounted as that's usually everyone's top fondest memory

Skull hooker has made a lot of money off this hunter  I hear better things about the deer sized hooks than the larger ones meant for elk.  I have a distressed barn wood for an elk Euro done by Michelle and its fabulous.

Skull Hooker has sales once or twice a year and they're $25 instead of $35. I like to stock up and save as that's how I roll

I like the Euro mounts. Takes up less wall space and saves money. Here is my most recent Euro mount. My sons first elk. Im a woodworker and enjoy the personal do it your self aspect of the Euro.

If money and space were a non factor. I would shoulder mount the majority of my animals regardless of size. Only throwing in euros for a variety piece.  I love the look of a quality mount. There are so many poses these days and habitat options each one can look like a original piece of art. The exception would be ugly caped critters.  My decision to mount or not to mount is often based  more on the size of the hunt than the size of the critter

But real world for me is that space is a big factor and money is pretty important to  So I have my fair share of euros. It seems they are on rotation now with the biggest ones going up and the smaller ones going to the office at work. One exception for me is moose. I really love the look of moose euros I guess I need two so I can have one of each

I have a few Euros that I might have done into a shoulder mount someday. It is a nice option to have in the back pocket.  I am super picky about taxidermy so when I find one that can replicate the exact look that I like I will have some done but until then everything goes Euro.    I see no point in having just any taxidermist do a mount because of price, quick turn around or (like a bunch of folks that I know) pick one out of the phone book and just drop it off.  We have some awesome taxidermists around here but we have just as many crappy ones.

I had this one done with a state of WA cutout for the background, I have seen some mounted to faux rock that looked pretty cool also. Getting a little creative with the presentation of a euro mount can be a good thing.

I like that with state shape backer.  Saw this on a fb group and like the idea.  I could see it work well for a bull/buck you may have worked for and have old sheds from...

I am torn on full or euro, will depend on animal and how family takes it.  I like Euro mounts though.

I made this little mount for my cougar out of local oak.  I wound up making a couple dozen more for friends for everything from raccoon to elk. 

Or just a stained cedar block cut out to fit the contours of the skull for table top display.
