Missing hunter near Royal City

This was sent out by the Grant County Sheriff. If anyone is in the area keep an eye out. It's going to be a cold night.

It can be easy to get turned around in that area. Not to mention the free range cattle can be aggressive.

I know fog can get real bad in that area at times. Is it foggy over there right now?

This posted at 10:21 this morning. Hopefully he just has a busted ankle and spent a chilly night under a Russian Olive tree.

Search continues for North Bend archery hunter missing near Crab Creek, Royal City.
Near Royal City, Wash (22NOV2015): Search has resumed this morning at the last known location of a North Bend man near Crab Creek, west of Royal City. He has been identified as Thomas Stieg, age 55, of North Bend, WA.

A search grid has been set up to help find the missing hunter. On foot, ORV, or horseback, GCSO, GC Search and Rescue, representatives from other area law enforcement, volunteer fire fighters, Department of Fish and Wildlife, along with civilian volunteers on horseback and ORVs have started looking for Thomas Stieg. Spokane Sheriff’s Office has a helicopter on its way to help with the air coverage.

Yesterday: Family of the missing hunter specified an area they thought he may be found, but initial search efforts were not successful. Officials located his pickup truck around 3pm but were not able to locate Thomas Stieg before the search had to be called off due to nightfall. Hunters in the area were contacted and asked to remain on the lookout.

Thomas Mark Stieg is described as 6 feet tall and approximately 180 pounds. He was last known wearing camouflage clothing and would have had his archery equipment with him. Stieg reportedly left home at 3am on November 20th for a one day hunt. His last known whereabouts are in the bluffs above Crab Creek, approximately 2.5 miles south of Hwy 26, west of Royal City. Stieg was driving a black 2013 Ford F150, license plate number B58677Y.

If anyone has any information on Mr. Stieg’s known whereabouts, please call MACC at 911 or (509) 762-1160.
