Best lube to help with frozen trap mechanisms?
« on: November 26, 2015, 10:18:12 AM »
My bobcat traps are in an area that's freezing at night and thawing in the day. My traps keep freezing open. I've tried trap wax and corn oil to keep them working correctly but come morning they are frozen again. I'm looking for any suggestions/remedies to correct this problem. Thanks in advance!

I would think a silicon based lube might work pretty good.  Have you tried the WD-40 silicon spray lube?

Thanks all I also just read the Vaseline on the Comstock page as well. Thought maybe there was another secret I hadn't heard of.

Is ur trap cover freezing over them? Try wax paper over trap under your cover material

Cover your trap with plastic put brush over plastic to hold it down and lube moving parts with Vaseline and you should be good to go.
