Which AR do you want coach?
AR 30 in .338 Lapua (little heavy), AR 50 (really heavy), Nemo Omen .300 Win Mag, AR 10 6.5-284, AR 15 6 mm PPC
Might be tough to narrow down since there are soooooo many options now days and most accurate =/= most powerful and a lot subjective.

Why is this under the Elk topic.  I wanna see some darn elk pictures if its in this area.  Plus everyone knows a AR platform rifle can't be used to ethically kill elk.

It may be just a shot in the dark? I believe his total intention is to purchase or build a AR and smoke some chit with it. On a "Mission" so to say.

Chances are, Elk is on the hit list.

Make one. AR10 .308 with the right glass would kick butt. I love my Grendel, too.

Not sure about off the shelf, my suggestion is to build.

Figure out what bullet you want to shoot and how fast and then pick the barrel length and twist to match that.  From there everything else can almost be anything you want as long as you don't pick junk.  That one of the best things about an AR why buy one built just to later change out items when you can start with what you like.
