Where can I buy di-calcium phosphate for mineral mix
« on: January 11, 2016, 03:19:08 PM »
I like to make my own mineral supplement for deer and elk, I have a recipe that I like but have had to substitute dolomite lime in the past for the di-cal because I can't find any.  Any ideas where I can get some in Western WA.  None of the feed stores I have looked at carry it.

Thanks!

Getting really hard to find on the eastside as well. After some researching, I just quit adding it to the mix and haven't noticed any negative results.

I bought a couple hundred pounds of di cal from a fertilizer company a couple miles east of Othello. I'll check the name on the bags when I get home tomorrow. it was "Wolf" something.

ETA: company name is "Wolfkill" Just google Wolfkill fertilizer Othello Wa.

Yeah wolfkill feed back in the day had all that stuff I used to ship tankers of fertilizers.  Are there any wolfkill mills left stanwood closed years ago I am unsure if monroe is still in operation.

Are you Lakewood north or south?  You might check with Conway Feed they make feed so might sell it still.  Dels which is now some other name Tractor Supply maybe in Centralia could possibly special order it for you( wish I could remember the managers name there) if you happen to be Lakewood south.

Thanks for the replies so far.  I do live in Lakewood South right on the edge of Tacoma.  I have checked all of the Del's and Tractor supplies around and have come up with a big goose egg.  I figured it would be difficult so I'm starting the search early!

Wolf kill is still the source in Stanwood or Othello.  There northwest beef is a good fit if you want it premixed.  Wilbur-Ellis too but Wolf kill would be simpler.
Keep the calcium level up, selenium, vitamin E and iodine in the proper proportions.  Good job on doing it the right way.

My buddy special orders it from a feed store in the Olympia area.  I'm not sure which one but I know they don't carry it.  He just calls them and puts in the order and picks it up when it is in.
GO COUGS!

I was looking online and there is a wolfkill in Monroe as well.  I'm going to see if they carry it as well.  Keep the comments coming.  Thanks guys!

It is probably too far away but Rietdyks Feed in Ridgefield, WA would have it.
