The thing you have to remember is that you gain a point when you submit your application,.

Incorrect information - you gain a point when you "buy" an application.

Am I the only one who has called WDFW to confirm this?  :dunno:

Not true at all. I bought an application for my wife and myself 4 years ago and forgot to submit my application, so neither of us was awarded a point. I called WDFW to see why we weren't given our points and their response was if you dont submit, then you don't get a point. Unless they changed it recently, I don't believe that you get a point without actually submitting.

Call them like I did. I would have a hay day with wdfw in the courts if they did not award points to someone who purchased an application and wasn't awarded their point.

I was concerned about some of the posts and called today and confirmed. If you have proof you were not awarded a point, email it to me.

It is even in the  Big Game Pamphlet. Here are a couple screen shots from my phone. Notice the words, "the purchase of an application" results in a point... no where does it say you must submit an application to get the point.

So, if you "purchase" an app you have a point even if you don't submit for a hunt.

If anyone has a different experience, it is a breach on WDFW's part, and you should get it rectified.

I am just looking out for my fellow outdoorsman. I don't like seeing people taken advantage of.

What I said is also true though- you gain a point when you submit an application. i don't think you actually get a point at the time of purchase. But you may get a point after the drawing if you forget to submit.   :dunno:

I am guessing they changed it like I suggested in my last post because they probably received enough complaints from other hunters. Trust me, I spoke to a guy named Cory and I read him the riot act and told him exactly what I thought about WDFW. I might add I haven't drawn a permit since for anything other than a cow tag, so I'm sure I got blacklisted. I can assure you that neither of us were awarded a point, but I'm sure in the hell not going to search for something from 4 years ago to try and prove my case.

Don't get me wrong, I don't know specifics about the past, and I am not trying to be a db. You are probably right regarding the past. I just know what I research for 2014 and 2015. I just want to make sure we are all on the same page.

This would be true. You are correct, technically, you wouldn't even benefit from the current year's purchase until the next year's draw...

And that is only if you purchase an app the next year and put in for a draw.

Wow, they need to post the results since we've resorted to quibbling about the ins and outs of the point system.  LOL. DNRY!

Great, at least I will be getting a point.... But I've lost all interest in the draw.  Good luck to all of those who remembered to apply!!!

Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.
