Looks like a Summit viper classic tree stand. If I recall correctly, they are rated for 250lbs or 300lbs.
just about every tree stand is rated for at least 250...most are rated for 300... unless your a really big boy it will be just fine for you. Ya said it's your first... take it out in the back yard and practice going up and down a tree before heading into the woods... climbers will be noisy at first but with practice ya can get em to climb a bit quieter... also practice shooting from the stand... lot different then shooting from the ground.
Yeah this stand came with the stock harness and then a nicer one. Thanks for the info folks, I am pretty stoked to start using it and get used to it here around the house. Need to buy more arows so I can go up the tree and not have to climb back down after every 10shots!
Good looking setup Larry. Now, you should get the Tree Stand Hunting Rock Mountain Elk book... oh wait, it's on the way .
Now that you have one its time to hunt the trees that you can climb where you hunt! NOW is the time of the year to go and do some tree/deer scouting. Bring your hand pruners and a limb saw!
