I highly doubt he's missed a lick of sleep about the hunt wa detectives......
How can the WDFW give permission to do something that's illegal? Why would someone even ask if they could hunt in a unit that is not open? I would think an experienced hunter like Tod Reichert would know how to read and understand the hunting regulations. Not only that, but he had at least one local hunting with him, and that guy would have, or should have known, that unit 334 did not have any open season for branch antlered bulls, and therefore was not open for hunting with his raffle elk tag.Since you know him, can you ask him to come on here and explain what happened?
WARNING: Do not drink and type!

The process is in place where you notify the WDFW where you will be hunting. There are several included in the notification chain. How the criteria can be overlooked by all at the wdfw? (More than once ) Your guess is as good as mine. Given the process and that it was followed, the fault lies with the department not the hunter. Either good or bad, real cases are not tried in the court of Huntwa.
