I carry a Martin Recurve on long hikes during season.

I've been thinking about giving this a go this year.  Really need to challenge myself now that compounds aren't fun to me anymore.

Been hunting elk with stickbows for 30 years.  My last elk was a 10 yard shot from a treestand over a "HOT" wallow.

People have been hunting big animals for, oh 20,000 years or so before compounds were invented. Homo sapiens  may have gone extinct if those single string bows didn't do the job....

Just keep your bow weight over 50#, use arrows weighing around 10 gpp with very sharp cut on contact heads and know your effective range.

What a jerk.

Try shooting something other than a cow from a tree stand.

I wont be impressed until you shoot a bear with a bow.

This will be my fourth year chasing elk with my bow. Ultra death laser beam under 6yds! It's a Nomad recurve and I'm pulling about 58#. Ugly as sin, but it will kill stuff.

Hmmm. Not sure who you are talking to. I took this bear with my homemade recurve and homemade arrows from the ground at 10 yards. My daddy told me that the measure of a good hunter isn't how far he can kill a critter, it's how close you can kill a critter. Btw this is my 3rdbear with stick bow.
