I blew two shots at cows on Saturday...one was out of my range and I attempted a hands and knees creep in to get within range...fifteen minutes and a charlie-horse later, I peeked around the tree that was giving me cover, and she was heading slowly up the ridge out of the marshy area she was feeding in. Later that night, I had a cow clear the pine tree that was covering my draw about a second too early and she caught me mid-draw...had to finish pulling back and at 10 yards, that little bit of movement spooked her. Still a fun day in the woods. Sunday was a zoo where I was at, more hunters than I have ever seen in the woods and not any elk in the area...they all went to their safe hidey holes. Hopefully I find them again later this week. Congrats on the Cow and to your son's friend.
