incentive permit
«
on:

I got a voicemail from wdfg saying that i drew a incentive permit for doing my license stuff in time. I can choose a western elk tag or a deer tag. What are these permits and are they worth claiming? I always apply for eastside archery elk and not sure if i drew anything yet. Will this tag affect my eastside hunt? It would def be for elk.

Claim it! It's like a raffle tag for free! You hunt Sept 1-Dec31 virtually on your terms. You just have to hunt in compliance with any general season that happens to be going while your hunting. Outside of general seasons you can hunt on your terms with your choice of weapon. Congrats!

It's like a multiseason, special permit, raffle and general mutant tag. Claim the elk. I thought they usually notify people a bit earlier for that one (like April).

There are 2 Eastside elk, 2 Westside elk and 5 statewide deer tags available for the incentive permit. I'm guessing since you have a choice there are probably some others who will get notified for the remainder of the tags.

I'm super excited for the tag. Looks like it's one additional elk for me this year. Already called and left a message saying I will take the Westside elk tag. Now the question is what unit should I start researching? I have always hunted eastside archery. Any tips on a unit to start researching?

I got a call saying i could choose between any deer tag in the state or Westside elk tag. I am thinking the elk tag but wondering if I should consider a deer tag. I am def much more of a elk hunter than a deer hunter. Should I consider the deer tag?

Looks like you got notified twice, take one elk, and one deer.
