I've got a lot of both and they're both awesome.  kuiu is cheaper retail; but if you pick up Sitka when it's on sale they're comparable.  Warrantee is very important to me and both times I returned a Sitka product it was replaced without question and in a timely manner.  I have not yet returned anything to Kuiu, but hopefully they will stand by their products as well if that time comes.  I really like Kuiu's Yukon gear and Sitka's 90% pants.

Each company has items that I feel are better than their competitors. I don't really think either is "better".  :twocents:

:yeah:  Unfortunatley if you want to match then you have to choose one or the other  :chuckle:  it really does boil down to camo options and planning IMO. the price point argument holds little water since competition and market saturation drive sitka price down with sales and used market. Other than the "frantic" kuiu sales they really hold their value across the spectrum. If you want to purchase a piece here or their and build your system and modify at your own pace Sitka has an edge. If you have budgeted for large lots and purchase pieces as soon as they are available then kuiu is a great one stop shop.

Really like the few Sitka items I have, but at the price point and sizing its limited. 6'7" and long torso very few of their shirts fit, only found the core base layers to have barely enough length in the torso.

Recently picked up a First Lite chama hoodie in their fusion pattern, love it. Arm and torso lengths are sufficient and I really like the versatility of the fusion pattern, especially for our state. They're making tall sizes in kanab and corrugated guide pants this year too.

I have and use both. In my books Kuiu is definitely better and I'm always willing to lay full price for a piece of gear I want/need. Sitka has some good items too but I only ever buy Sitka gear if it's 30% off or more. It's just not worth the full price.

Piece meal is my preference. That said, First Lite
Kindly do not attempt to cloud the issue with too many facts.

I have them both and I personaly prefer the kuiu gear to the Sitka, I believe them Both tobr quality I just prefer the fit and finish of the kuiu, price is not that big a deal unless you plan to buy a pile of it a once

I have purchased some Sitka gear that I really like but it is so darn expensive that I am also looking at the Kuiu gear as it has a better price point. It also looks like a very good quality product.

Thought I would ask everyone to see who has used both and what your opinions are.

Thanks in advance...

Neither as an absolute rule of thumb. It all depends on what piece of gear you want.  What are you looking to get?
what in the wild wild world of sports???

I think kuiu pants and first lite tops and base layers are the best bang for your buck.

KUIU is hands down the best outerwear on the planet. My Yukon jacket literally repels water. Their insulation is built for purpose and not quite as warm outright as some of the offerings from Sitka, but when layered properly, you can take KUIU well below zero. Durability is outstanding, as is the customer service. I'll be a KUIU customer for life.

I run Sitka gear for my waterfowling addiction and that stuff is REALLY nice, I just think that KUIU takes the cake when it comes to ultralight mountain hunting endeavors.

I will probably get a couple of KUIU pieces for this archery season and try them out. I do like the Sitka but waiting for the right sale and Cabelas coupons gets to be a pain.
Thanks to everyone for the great feedback, appreciate it!
