I just ordered a Lyman peep sight. It sounds like I have to make a few adjustments to the stock for clearance problems but all in all I heard it's a really strong unit and can get different size apertures for it.Has any else ever used one?

Yes the front is still stock.

Yeah that's what I did also.  Isn't is so much better.  Makes you wonder why you ever shot the originals in the first place huh.  :)  I don't even know where my original rear sight is because I know I'll never shoot it again.

I just bought a williams for my TC black diamond XLR.  It will be interesting to figure out how my gun shoots at longer range.  I never shot very much past 125 since my sights covered the target.  How much drop do you all get out at 150?  Obviously it depends on your load, but I'm curious anyway.

As all of you have said. I love it. I got a chance to get out and shoot the Black Diamond with the new peep site on it. I can see sooooo much more with it. Now I'm going to get one for the Bighorn. I wish I would of picked one up sooner. Other wise I might not of missed the bobcat at 180yrds.

OK I just got the Williams peep site and am not too sure where to install it, the holes under the existing sights don't line up and there are two holes in front of the hammer and 3 holes behind that I assume are for scope mounts, Just curious where you guys mounted yours since no instruction came with the sight !!!  :dunno:

I mounted mine as close to my eye's as possible. I took out the screws that where for the scope mount and they lined up perfectly. Then I took the screws that where in those holes and put them in where the old rear site was. I put mine on my Black Diamond. I'm going to get one for my Bighorn here pretty quick. You will absolutely love the peep site. I wish I'd of gotten one a long time ago. Let us know what you think.

Well, I've gotten to the point where my eyes seem to be having a bit of an issue with the sights I'm using. Its a simple focus problem and I have seen a few similar posts regarding this issue and getting around it with a peep sight.

I am shooting a TC BlackDiamond 50, with original fiber sights. I shoot ok on the range, but in the woods I seem to have an issue. Missed a fine fat doe on the last day of the season at around 70-80 yards. Anyway, I would like to get some opinions on peep sights from those using them and specifically anyone using them on a Blackdiamond. I have read a bit on this site and I know that some of the sights require some work due to height issues. There also seems to be an issue with some regarding aperture size. All information would be appreciated so I can make a decison. Thanks in advance.

I got to that point too. I switched when one of my buddies mentioned that his Dad had run into the same problem (eyes not what they used to be) and had gone to a peep site with good results. This is the 8th season I will be hunting with a peep site. I have had outstanding results. It was a little hard to get used to but from what I have learned you have to train your brain to use it. Once trained your eye's and hands tend to automatically center the post in the peep. I have made some of the most accurate shots with my peep. I would not go back. And if I had discovered it as a younger man I would have used it then too.
