Personally, in this instance I do not care what the regs say. Baiting, in my personal opinion, is not ethical. We are hunting not fishing. Opinions vary though.

Might want to look at page 86 of the regs a little closer...

Seriously....this topic comes up at LEAST 4-5 times every year. Does anybody ever consider using the search function?

I know! Man heres some proof: I asked wdfw through email and here's what the said.

Dear Mr. Berkompas,

Thank you for contacting the Department of Fish and Wildlife.

I don't see a previous email from you, so I apologize for the inconvenience and the delay.

It is not illegal to feed deer in Washington. If you intend to hunt, you would need to follow the restrictions under WAC 232-12-245. Bait cannot exceed 10 gallons and they cannot be placed within 200 yards from another bait site. For more information on baiting, visit: http://wdfw.wa.gov/about/regulations/2016/wsr_16-04-126.pdf.

Sincerely,

Wildlife Program

Just typed in deer and bait into the search function. There were ony 7 pages of baiting topics. I would have guessed it closer 70 pages.

It's a simple question.  We don't need to beat him up, and we certainly don't need to relive those seven pages of results for baiting topics.

As others posted, the regs don't say "no baiting' anywhere.  You just need to read the regs more carefully and fully to understand the intent.

I like to start with WDFW resources.

Sheesh.... the guy asked a simple question.

Some of you people clearly haven't killed anything in a while.

Maybe I should start another thread asking the same thing on this topic so it at LEAST comes up 5-6 times this year, knowing now that it bothers you..   :hello:
