I'm working on getting one confirmed in western whatcom/ skagit.  I've given them three pics now in the last year, I was told if I can get two in the same frame we could look at confirming a pack
In 05 they were given pics of a whole pack on a Nooksack bar with track pics and everything. They didn't do squat. DNA hair samples are all they will take and you had better keep some to keep them honest.

If I recall they claimed that was a pic of Hybrids, that they had pics of them previously.   :dunno:
that was their excuse anyway.

They know, they released them south of Pe Ell west of kelso out yonder there up high by that lake.  Serious they did.  Report all we want they will confirm when they decide too.  Hoof rot control. Ug.
They did not release any wolves.

I hope they hurry up and get on with recovery over there.

Tell us how you really feel. Want more wolves in Washington. You want them to infest western Washington and ruin hunting opportunities. Do us all a favor find a bridge and jump.
Do us a favor and open the wolf management plan and read.

We can't do anything with wolf management in the rest of the state until the SW wolf recovery area meets objectives....but I am sure you already know that...

I have heard from a reliable source that they are in concrete. Not long and they will infest the west side as well.

It does make it believable that wolves simply migrated to WA and were NOT transplanted here like some believe. :twocents:

Supposedly wdfw is trying to confirm wolves in that area...  I heard it was a specific area... when my brother logged said area the other loggers said they had been in there for years.

Where's the pics? If there aren't any pictures of wolves being released it didn't happen. They don't need to release them. They move around fine on their own.

They are all the way to the coast now.  I saw tracks and scat in Boistfort 2 years ago and have had reports from friends ( and seen pics) of them being as far West as William's Creek and North River.

:yeah:  We all know Facebook has loose lips that sink ships.  So No pics here and no names released just a Wardens daughter who communicated with a good friend that her Father had been part of this operation.  Elochoman Pass area I think, breeding pair.  Last year or year before, I forget.

I just can't imagine the state endorsing a release of a predator such as the wolf by state employees.  If word got out, it would potentially mean huge lawsuits for the state and jail time for the employees.  Just seems much more likely that wolves came on their own since they seem to like to travel long distances at times.

The state couldn't do it, and wouldn't do it- not secretly. We (the public) would be told first. It would be a big deal, they'd have to jump through all kinds of hoops to get approval to do it. Look at the antelope that got released in Washington recently. In order to get it done, they had to release them on the Yakama Indian reservation so the WDFW didn't have any say.

Any role the state would play in it would be illegal. No offense, but I don't believe it actually happened.

Right...couldn't even release a non-ESA animal that does nothing but eats grass, poops and breeds.

http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,166060.msg2190078.html#msg2190078            I know but it was a reliable source.  Heck as soon as she found out she called me to share and couldn't believe it herself.  It doesn't really matter and we all know the State operates totally in the light! :bash:  Either way something happened.
