I've been down this road many times. I have a drawer full of 200-300$ range finders and 200-600$ binos ... My recommendation would be cut your losses now and spend 2000+ on Leica HDr or Swaro EL Range. I hit a range of 1447 yards in the Okanagan this year, I couldn't have done that with anything I have in the drawer that's collecting dust.
Dan-O, what are you using it for? If you're using it for archery only, the Bushnell 400 is cheap and works. If you're looking to get into long distance shooting, see above. You don't need to spend a lot for an archery rangefinder.

I envy your ability to put down $2K+ on a range finder..I'm just not there. I'm a single income father of 5. But I'll bet my kid's orthodontist could drop that kind of money on lunch, based on what I've paid him over the years (OUCH!!!!)I might see my way clear to $300-350, but I just can't see going past that in my position.Happy ranging!
