The packages will get you started and shooting, but you will want to upgrade things sooner than later. Just buying a bow from cabelas isn't a bad thing l, but I would reccomend taking it to an archery shop to ensure that it is set up correctly and fits you. They will more than likely charge for this service since you didn't buy the bow with them. If you have the money to pay with cash it may pay to look at archery shops also, but if your gift cards are all you can use then by all means buy from cabelas.

Not naming any establishments but be ready to be put behind their customers and do a lot of sitting and waiting around while they ignore you.
