Some new European mounts and ideas (BlackRiver Taxidermy)
« on: February 12, 2017, 11:36:41 AM »
Just completed a bunch of euros and wanted to try a few new ideas. I have some great customers that allowed me to try these ideas on a few of their mounts and I wanted to post some picture of the standouts. First couple are of a whitetail, a BIG whitetail, on a barnboard plaque with distress/aged trim with barbed wire. The mount is mounted on its side rather than straight on...its a cool look but the downside is that it sticks out further on the wall.
The second is a tremendous bull on a barnboard plaque with barbed wire as well. I burned the edge of the plaque to give it some color and to compliment the color of the antlers.
A big thank you to my good friend, Greg, owner of Knottingham Wood Working Shop in Olympia who made the plaques based on my direction. Also a big thank you to the owners for their business and allowing me to tinker with some ideas.
Enjoy- Joel/BRT

Beautiful work! I really like the angle on the whitetail skull, compared to the traditional straight on look. Thanks for sharing!

I like that whitetail one!

Saw these the other day and thought they were rather cool.
He asked, Do you ever give a short simple answer?  I replied, "Nope."
