NOW THATS A BEAVER! 101 lbs
« on: February 14, 2017, 11:07:23 AM »
Check this big guy out!

Grabbed this pic of the Alaska Trapping Association Facebook page. Looks like it came out of Saskatchewan Canada. Weighed in at 101 lbs! I've personally seen them hit low 70s but this is huge. You'd need a sheet of plywood to stretch it.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Holy cow!  That must be one of those beaver-grizzly hybrids.

Monster for sure!

I recall being in Naknek Alaska and on this little lake I saw a bear that after quite awhile, was actually a beaver.  Just couldn't believe how big he was.

To be that heavy it has to be pregnant. I caught one the other day with 5 kits in it so it is that time of year.

The biggest I ever caught was about 20 years ago weighted in at 86 pounds.  I catch two that day the other was 52 pounds, three days later a 77 pound-eeer.
Six months before that I had a massive heart attack.  Putting that one in the truck I was thinking I was going to have another one.

There was a guy up on the Colville Indian Reservation, that was a snare-man that I knew.  He became the Judge up there.  Chuck VanDyke knows who I'm talking about and maybe Bruce does too.  I can't remember his name.  Anyway he told me here a couple years back before he died that he caught two 125 pounders.  I believe him, he was that kind of guy.

I'll dig up a pic of one I trapped about 4 years ago that I estimated over 100 lbs. It looked about that size and was full of little ones. I've trapped several over 60#
