Where'd you retrieve the bullet from?  You thumped it's skull head on?
near as my measurements are the bullet went about 16" and stopped down in the neck.

I skipped the story & went straight to the pics then saw the 1911 laying next to a dead bear thinking it was a follow up. Wow that was a cool story. Congrats man
