Get in the best shape of your life is my advice!!
r u saying that this hunt requires more effort and or energy then the average general season elk hunts and or special perm. hunts? if YES please elaborate in more detail and specifics on what ur refuring too please?

Look at the topo maps. It's big country.

All depends on where a guy wants to hunt. With a white river Hancock permit you could drive around all day every day

Just drive into Buckley and go down Sheets Road at 530 any morning and look at those boys in the fields. That's were I'm going because I'm going to draw it myself lol

It's more fun and you can see a lot more up in the alpine, my  :twocents: anyway.  Hunting that requires a lot of hiking over rugged ground.  I did 30+ miles in a few days with my buddy last year, so yes get in the best shape you can

Looks like I will be driving around with my wife's Grandpa in the unit.  He is in his 90s so we will not get to far from the road. Man can he shoot though, Old world war 11 Marine and he is still a hell of a shot. looking forward to driving him around again this year.
