Looking to take my son hunting

It's already been asked but I don't see where you responded so I'll ask again, why dont you just take him to Colville for a weekend during modern firearm and shoot a doe? There's a youth season that he doesn't need to draw a tag. Looks like this year it's Oct 14 and 15 and October 21 and 22. Go to the Colville national forest and you shouldn't have any issue finding a doe. Or ask any farmer over there for permission for your kid.

Unit 124 has the one of the highest whitetail population in Eastern WA. For youth, you have the entire early season to shoot either sex. I bet if you spent one hour knocking on a few doors, you would have no problem with a farmer letting a youth shoot a doe. They are everywhere.

Buy an IEP day pass and hunt their land in GMU 124. You should be able to get a doe or a small basket buck.

I dont think that hebis looking for a doe.....so i love the fact that everyone is advising it.

Not at all, I've taken plenty of deer in my life and I would never be dishonest. I haven't replied much about the does because my son's first year hunting is when the big fires hit the Methow area in 2014 and he ended up getting drawn for two doe tags.  We went over the weekend before thanksgiving found public land and he saw a lot of does. After passing on about 8 of them he told me he couldn't shoot a doe he felt bad killing a female deer. I told him that's ok and I wouldn't pressure him into killing something he didn't want to kill and ruin him on hunting.  I told him he would know when the right time is and that we had a great weekend and made memories. Again I live my life trying to do the right thing and I would never deceive anyone or be dishonest.
