I could not get it out of the stump. Had to be some serious force to bury it that far and then continue to bend and snake the rod. Some hunter is going to come across that some day and wonder....what the heck?

Because you asked.    Gotta give credit for admission....but no I really dont see how that could happen with even paying reasonable attention to what your doing.  Not bashing or hating....but NO I dont see that happening EVER around me!!

One of the old-time mountain men supposedly shot a grizzly bear with a ramrod in an emergency situation!

At any rate, we all make mistakes, even without a stressful situation to make it more likely. Glad nothing worse happened!

 Never say never,  A simple Google search will show you it happens quite often.

 I did get to shoot it again yesterday, everything is fine,  even my new ramrod LOL

Thanks for sharing - its good for all of us to be reminded of this stuff.

I had a few hangfires years ago.  I use a nipple pick before every shot now, I only use loose powder, and I use the best caps I can find.  All hang fires went away when I started doing this.
