Ocean Shores deer poaching
« on: September 17, 2017, 02:58:51 PM »
This buck was apparently poached in Ocean Shores in the last couple of days.  Please keep an eye out for anyone showing it off.  Head was cut off and all the meat left to waste.
I would imagine it's worth 10 points in the category of your choosing for whoever turns them in.
I guess there was another buck poached in the last week or so, but I have no photos of it and only heard that it's meat was wasted as well.

The one on the GC is the one I don't have photos of.

I'm heading out for a few days of elk hunting now, so most likely out of cell range for any other questions.

Did someone hit it between the eyes with a hammer while they were feeding it.

Go figure, you feed them in your backyard till they're trophies, then some idiot offs it and puts it on his wall.  What's wrong with this picture?

Another reason to not make pets out of wildlife or call them trophies  >:(  Karma does have a way with dealing with poachers like that tho.

Sorry to hear that that's was a very nice buck. Poachers usually can't keep their mouths shut so hopefully they will be caught.

Just cause I'm curious what about the kill made it poaching ? Was it shot off private property ? Archery is in season so unless they were using a gun I'm lost on this one

i'm pretty sure you can't hunt big game in ocean shores.  maybe archery is legal?  i did look into it a bit out there when i used to live in the area, the area is a firearm restriction zone and city ordinances outlaw shotguns with anything larger than BB shot.
you can still get gas in heaven, and a drink in kingdom come,
in the meantime, i'll be cleaning my gun

Even if it was an archery kill it is still against the law to leave the rest and only take the head.
So it is illegal one way, (closed season or wasting a game animal), or the other.

No hunting is allowed at all in Ocean Shores with the exception of two specific areas where bird hunting is allowed.  Also, residents in the area of the poaching, reported hearing gunshots late at night.

The one shot on the golf course had just the head taken. Greens keeper was there till dark and no dead deer. Next morning there is a carcass on the green with no head. Kind of suspicious at that point

Bizarre!  Weird!

I can't imagine any poacher cutting the head off the deer in the dark/semi-dark in a wide open area - musta been dark and done without artificial light.  Wouldn't you drag the thing into the bushes to take off the head?  Sounds more like the Mafia "sending a message" to the greens keeper.
